First of all, WELCOME! The SAIA applauds you for taking your commitment to the scaffold and access industry to the next level. We look forward to your participation. Whether you're a seasoned participant or this is your first time participating, the following information should help you become more acclimated with Committee Week.
What is SAIA Committee Week all about?
Committee Week is SAIA’s mid-year meeting in which our thirteen councils meet to work on current projects, discuss issues facing their council’s segment in the industry, evaluate their goals and objectives, and prepare for the upcoming year. Each council is responsible for the development and implementation of affairs consistent with the product and/or service applicable to each council. Our councils are: Aerial Work Platforms, Construction Hoists, Fall Protection Equipment, Permanent Installation, Plank and Platforms, Industrial Scaffolds, International, Mast Climbing, Shoring, Supported Scaffolds, Suspended Scaffolds, Access.Professionals.Excellence and Regulations and Review. In addition to the council meetings, the SAIA offers training courses through the SAIA Training Program:
*Note: the training classes are open to ALL interested individuals!!
SAIA Committee Week isn’t all about hard work! From our President’s Reception to breaks in the SAIA Café and socializing in the hotel lobby, there are many opportunities to meet, mingle, and have fun with industry peers. After all the great work our councils do to make the scaffold and access industry safer, a little fun and relaxation is well-deserved!
Who comes to Committee Week?
Representatives from all the major sectors of the industry come to this event. Manufacturers, rental houses, attorneys, labor groups, consulting firms, suppliers, distributors, plus many more attend Committee Week. These attendees are the builders, CEOs, presidents, managers, safety directors, and engineers – just to name a few. The people who attend are in similar positions, similar businesses, and share the same passion for the industry as you do.
What are the councils meetings like?
Council meetings are your opportunity to meet face-to-face with council chairs and let your voice be heard. If you have ideas regarding the direction of the industry, thoughts on how training should be addressed or simply want inspiration from your industry peers, these meetings are for you! In addition, each council will discuss any unfinished business (current projects, updates from previous meetings, etc) and will open up new business (new projects, recent issues, etc).
